SHIFT

Exodus 14:15 “ And the Lord said unto Moses, “Why criest thou unto Me? Speak unto the children of Israel, that they go FORWARD.”

Can you imagine how Moses (A Leader) felt when he and the people he was responsible for leading were standing in front of the Red Sea with the Egyptians in hot pursuit of them to take them BACK into the bondage that God had just delivered them out of??? Think about it… They all but went through Hell to get away from years of Bondage. Then through a series of Miraculous acts, Pharaoh (the oppressor) finally let them go. And after they are going the direction that God leads them, wealthier than they had ever been, healthier than they had ever been, experiencing a freedom they’d NEVER had; they come to a place that LOOKED like they were set up for defeat! Yet with a desert on one side, mountains on the other, the Egyptians behind them and the Red Sea in front of them, God says to Moses GO FORWARD! WOW!!!!

In other words SHIFT! The next thing he did was command him to use what was in his hand! Verse 16 says “But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea and divide it; and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.” There is yet another shift that is taking place today and that is moving forward from our old comfortable lives to the New Life that God has for us. How many times do we choose to settle for what is familiar because we don’t want the inconvenience of the shift? Or we get in the process of it and like the children of Israel our past pursues us so hard just as we come up to what seems like a dead end and we either panic or loose the courage to keep moving forward? Guess what, I too have this struggle. I wish I could say that every time God wanted to take me UP or move me forward, I willingly went. Unfortunately that has not been the case. Each time my flesh fought the “Upgrade” that God was bringing to my life. And the tripped out part is that I Prayed for it and sincerely wanted it. The problem is like Paul, I have to beat my flesh into submission because it wants to do Gods will My way and that won’t happen ever. So I usually fight until of course… HE wins. Now if you’re reading this and you’ve never had this experience, Praise God. But I’m writing this for those of us who do. You know what I realized? In the Old Testament they would tie the sacrifice to the altar. You know why? Because Living Sacrifices will crawl off when the heat hits it! Therefore I have learned to pray for God to Bind me to the Altar, because although I want His will, my flesh will betray me and make me move when I need to be still or be still when I need to SHIFT.

I said all of that to say, just like when a plane is about to take off the Crew will make sure you are in an upright position, with your tray tables up and your seat belts buckled so you are prepared for the shift. In other words be prepared for turbulence during the shift! It’s time to put up the distractions and come out of complacency so you can be in position to move and act quickly if HE says so. Buckle up for safety. Know that I am praying for all of those who God is calling to a Shift. Shift in mindset, shift in lifestyles, shift in relationships, shift in where you live, shift in where you work, shift in what you do. Whatever the shift is, I pray for you and myself that we walk in total obedience without restraint. For TRUE worship is completely YES. Shift (crossover) while He is holding the waters back and providing dry ground. Don’t get discouraged about the enemies that are coming after you. Like the children of Israel, once you make it to the other side of through the water that He brought you through is what will devour them! So Obey God and SHIFT!
